♥ THE RHYTHM OF LOVE ♥

[Guest Blog Post]

Warning: Some parts or topics in this article might make you incensed or upset.

There are so many kinds of love; romantic love, platonic/friendly love, interpersonal love, family love, teacher love, neighbor love, love of God and the like. Since this topic is broad, above all these kinds, I will be focusing on interpersonal love, religious love and friendly or platonic love.

IN SCIENCE: Interpersonal love refers to love between human beings. It is a more potent sentiment than a simple liking for another.

Helen Fisher, a leading expert in the topic of love, divides the experience of love into three partly overlapping stages: lust, attraction, and attachment.

Lust is the initial passionate sexual desire that promotes mating, and involves the increased release of chemicals such as testosterone and estrogen. These effects rarely last more than a few weeks or months. Attraction is the more individualized and romantic desire for a specific candidate for mating, which develops out of lust as commitment to an individual mate forms. Recent studies in neuroscience have indicated that as people fall in love, the brain consistently releases a certain set of chemicals, including pheromones, dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, which act in a manner similar to amphetamines, stimulating the brain's pleasure center and leading to side effects such as increased heart rate, loss of appetite and sleep, and an intense feeling of excitement. Research has indicated that this stage generally lasts from one and a half to three years. Attachment is the bonding that promotes relationships lasting for many years and even decades. Attachment is generally based on commitments such as marriage and children, or on mutual friendship based on things like shared interests. It has been linked to higher levels of the chemicals oxytocin and vasopressin to a greater degree than short-term relationships have.

Enzo Emanuele and coworkers reported the protein molecule known as the nerve growth factor (NGF) has high levels when people first fall in love, but these return to previous levels after one year.

♥MY INTERPERSONAL LOVE VIEWS♥

Love is one of the desires of every individual in this world. It gives unexplained feelings that even words can’t equate the meaning. When we hear love, what pops in our mind is maybe the one we are in love and inspired with. We always think of that person in every day and night we are awake. We smile beautifully because of this someone special.
To those who are “torpe”/timid/stupid, fight your feelings to that someone you love, what important is you are true to yourself and genuine to your feelings to him/her; but never forget to be ready and accept whatever outcome you may achieve coz this may be difficult for you especially if you are rejected.

In every love are reasons behind. Why do we love this person? Why do we want this person? Why do we need this person?; questions that need many answers. Some answers are malicious; some are facts or based in science and research. Some answers are based from our experiences.

Here are some reasons that I researched and read from science based findings. Some are based from my curious mind, seeking knowledge and answers and keen observation and few of them are from my recent past experience.

Some of them are: We love that person just because of the physical appearance; I mean the physical enchantment (charming, good looking) that we are astounded of. Loving that person for the reason that of the internal beauty, connotation being a good one, caring, helpful, modest, comical and et cetera. For sure, we love him/her due to the product of our subterranean and long relationship with him/her as being friends that resulted to not just being friends but more. We want that person simply you want him/her in your life as a product of love. In some way is malicious, we need that person just seeing that we want our sexual desire to be meet. Or in some ways, we want him/her to have only relationship or peer pressure. Some of our reason is that it is only our tripping (trip-trip lang) or as experience. And perhaps the last but somehow the worst, we love him/her just to cover-hole the unforgettable past about love, denoting we are only using them.

These reasons are real in life; basic physiological needs, product of being friends and some of these reasons are intentional which is nastiest.

Based from my findings, observations and research, people love their someone special from the following outcomes; 63% people shows affection to someone due to the reason of his/her physical appearance, 29% a product of more than being friends or bondship, 5% due to the sexual desire and the remaining 3% is just a trip, for experience et cetera.

But based from my own experience, I love that person for the following; 42% resulted as from being friends until it developed, 41% as who she is, 12% came from needing that person in my life as a product of love and 5% from physical-mesmerize.

Each of us has different reasons why do we love someone (him/her).

On the other hand are the brokenhearted. This is dejected for those that who are in this situation. The miserable part of love is being rejected or being separated from love-ones.

But sometimes we need to accept this fact, not all of love affairs are in jovial ending. But don’t get your hope loose though sometimes it’s frail, who knows there’s a better someone who are right to have our unequatable love that will come to love us truly than the one of the past; but if none then don’t be disappointed, happiness in life is a choice. Maybe, reasons are not yet known why this happened; maybe, someone unexpected will come right before our eyes who will love us as who we are and accept the whole we. As being brokenhearted, blaming God is unacceptable and unforgivable like what I have done few months before that I remorse(regret) so much.

Desperate to be loved by someone else is ludicrous. Commitment with and loving God is great.

On my part, I have experienced this phenomenon, yes, normal negative feelings felt. Being in a corner always, thinking why did this happened, why its me and why I feel pain so much. As time goes by, I realized that it’s totally all over. But to resolve the pain, I need to sacrifice the companionship formed and intend to forget her that I don’t want too; I can’t do anything but this. Its hurting me of doing this and maybe on her part too but nothing I can do aside from these. No texts or messages. Everytime we see each other, I always pretending that I do not want to talk to her, asking how she is and on how she’s doin’; doing this augments pain in my heart. But in reality I can’t fool myself, that I miss her, missing the whole she, missing our companionship from before, that I want to talk to her, that I want to see her; though feelings is still there, I can’t do anything but to make-believe that I’m not. Coz in reality, I have limitations. Honestly, I want to pull back the time to return from the past of what we are before than at this present that changes prevail.

Above all, I guess she doesn’t need any help from me anymore since she’s in anybody else’s hands who will help her always. That she already doesn’t need me since the guy is at her side always. She hasn’t appreciated what I have helped and done for her since she has said that word which destroyed my pride. I believe and accept that one day she will be forgetting my name and the whole me. What I want for her is happiness right now.

As of now, I am happy of today. Acceptance made my heart free. Accepting God again made my heart in ease and in love. Acceptance of the changes between she and me made me to start the life with new chapter of merriness. Being not love by someone is not a case, but on how you love God and yourself is not comparable.

Below is a letter-poem that I made and supposed to be given to her last June 2011. But now, this little piece is only a trash and kept in a book. Note, this is only the excerption of the whole letter...Ü

♥MY RELIGIOUS LOVE/LOVE OF GOD VIEWS♥

Being in a relationship is triple or more the ecstatic than those who are only being in love; but sometimes when we are in a relationship or in love, we are unaware of being selfish. We think only of ourselves and our own merriness. We unconsciously forget about GOD who loves us more than we know. We only remember Him when we are in need of Him, when we ask for something. Our mutual love is compared to nothing than HIM and our love to HIM.

In John 14:15, the Lord said, “If you love me, keep my commandments”. Have you ever told yourself that you love God? If yes, how? It’s easy to say “I love God”. We do say “I love you God”; but are we sincere enough? Oftentimes, we only love God simply because we need favors from Him or we need something from Him. For some reason, we say that we love Him but behind we are just in the purpose to show to other people that we are devoted to Him or just to show our being religious.

In loving God, in every morning that you wake up, just even once a day, you say “I love you God as you love me though I am a sinner”. Even you can’t go to church due to some reasons, praying, following His commandments and deeds, and remembering Him in our house or in some place and in everything we do is enough because I know that He understand you or us.

♥MY FRIENDLY LOVE VIEWS♥

Our commitment/love to our friends is somewhat the same to that of interpersonal love. We share the love with them as friends and nothing more. We call our friends as only friends but sometimes we do not know that this is also called love to our co-beings; where no sexual gratification or intimate feelings involve. Friendly love means friendship that is deeper than being as friends only.

In public views, friendly love is more beautiful to see between opposite sex as if they are like “lovers in Paris” or even girl to girl friendly love where nothing malicious involve even though they are so close with each other. Unlike boy to boy friendly love relationship, maliciousness comes first in the mind of other people; sometimes saying “yack/baduy” or is there something from them? compared to the opposite sex though intrigue sometimes, they do not say yuck or baduy but instead thinking as if they are more than friends which is not; thinking and judging there every action of something deeper than being friends.

If we are being viewed and judged as this, don’t mind there malevolent thinking; they don’t care; they do not have any rights to judge but God Himself. Whom they are judging for is God not us, why? Because we are molded in His own holy image; like in sayings “what you did to others is the same what you did to Him”.

**Just remember this, we can do anything for our love-ones, being kind, humorous, comical, intelligent, good-looking or any positive attributes as if lie being perfect, but if we can’t his/her heart, it’s useless. We in our limit, limitations that humans have; we are not perfect.YAWEH PARAWAN AVILES

**Love can’t be explained by anybody else unless you are in it. Science can explain how passion begins and the body’s mechanisms but never the feelings that an individual feels. YAWEH PARAWAN AVILES

**Just remember this, we can do anything for our love-ones, being kind, humorous, comical, intelligent, good-looking or any positive attributes as if lie being perfect, but if we can’t win his/her heart, it’s useless. 10th Q&A Monday

It's already the 10th Edition of Q&A Monday!
Thanks for continuously asking great questions and I hope my humor and practical answers will satisfy them.

What's your favorite app on your mobile phone?
asked by Formspring
My favorite app in my phone is the colorful and sweet Fruit Slice. I used to have Angry Birds in my phone, and it should have been my favorite now, but I deleted it because it takes a huge portion of my memory.
Hope I'll find time to download Angry Birds and play it again. Both of these games are highly interactive and very addictive.

party? or bed time?
asked by 3OH3
A very easy question.I would prefer party! haha.. But this is highly relative to my mood. If I'm not in the mood like when I am depressed or just simply tired, then, certainly, I would just stay at home, take a rest and sleep all night.
If it happens that I am really in the right mood and I am happy, Partying is the best! Let's go party people! :D

what was your dream job when you were a kid?
asked by AskCamryn
When I was a kid, I dreamed of being an astronaut. When I was in elementary, I wanted to be a doctor and when I entered college, I took up and finished Nursing.
That's a real dream-come-true story huh? :D
And I can tell myself that dreams really do come true! hahaha.. :D

What is the main feature of a website that you like the best?
asked by houstonassassin
The best feature that a website can offer is if it provides ways on how the audience, readers or visitors could interact and comment on its contents. Second to this is the degree of innovation or uniqueness of the website.
All of our voices should be heard. This could make or break a website depending on how comments are moderated and how will the comments be accepted by the Web ADministrator..

No school wooo hooo! what do you do to celebrate Labor Day?!?!?!
asked by FredFigglehorn
I am certainly not celebrating the Labor Day. Here in the Philippines, many workers are conducting rally and protests in the streets to call for increase in the minimum wage at this day.
But, as for me, I'll just stay at home and take a good rest. It's a holiday after all.  ;)

How do you say squirrel in other languages????
asked by FredFigglehorn
LOL! very funny question! I can't think of a direct translation of squirrel in our very own Filipino Language but we might as well directly borrow it and change its spelling to: SKWIREL.
Is it that different? NO! haha.. :D

How are you right now?
asked by tamaguilar
I am perfectly fine, a little bit sleepy now, but I can take it. I mean, your questions are all great and I am having a good time answering these questions.
Hope you'll continue asking more thought-provoking questions! And I also pray that you may always be blessed by God with good health and happy life. :)

If you could go on a road trip with any person, dead or alive, who would it be and where would you go?
asked by lhives
Of course, If I could go on a road trip, I will go with my girlfriend. And, if it is possible, I may also think of bringing with me my family and some of my jolly friends.
In that way, this road trip will be 100% fun and enjoyable! I would want to go to Pagudpud or any beach with white sand will do like in Bolinao or Zambales.

do you believe in miracles?in wat way?
asked by kathyish
I certainly believe in miracles. Sometimes, we really don't understand things that are happening in our surroundings and even the experiences that we have in life with our own thinking and these things may be miracles and there's simply no reason behind them. They're purely magnificently magical and mystical and what we should do is just to admire them.

Ask me anything :DD
asked by anonymous
haha.. This is a very hard question to answer! haha..
Hmm.. My questions would be, "What is your name?" and "What is the real question that you want to ask?"
I think this is just an alibi question.. haha.. :D

You think you have more interesting question?
Ask them now and I may answer it in the 11th Edition of Q&A Monday!

[NEWS, OPINION]

TUCP, CHED urges graduating High School students not to take-up 5 "oversubscribed" courses: one of which is NURSING

I feel disheartened by this article featuring the statements coming from Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP).
The problem that the Nursing Profession faces today is not new to me. I am actually experiencing it right now. But the bad thing about these statements is that it hinders high school graduates to choose freely what course they really want to take in college.
Indeed, it is correct to say that Nursing (or any of the five courses stated in the article) are somewhat or "extremely oversubscribed," but the thing is, these organizations can't tell these students to "avoid" or "stay-out" (of) the aforementioned courses.
In the case of Nursing, these statements could be of much effect especially to the Nursing Education. I think they failed to consider that having decreasing amount of nursing student (or even total absence) could lead to even more unemployment in the said profession as this could result to laying-off of many Nursing Educators.
As matter of fact, this situation is currently happening right now and these press releases could even aggravate this condition. I hope that organizations like TUCP and CHED should consider the effects like what I've stated above before "urging" the graduating High School students to avoid these professions.
And the thing is, I believe that there's still future that awaits these students in the Nursing Profession. Many developed countries are having an increasing aging/ elderly portion in their population and this either directly or indirectly means that they'll evetually need to call for other health care providers (like Nurses) coming from outside their country to provide care to these people.
It is not new to us that the Philippines is one of the top producers of  Nurses worldwide.

"Hilot" as a future career

The idea of taking up the "Hilot" / Massage Therapy course is good. It's new to me that being a "Hilot" is in demand and even high-paying right now but I also honestly think that it's a good vocational course to consider too: for as long as the student really want to take it up.

TUCP's say about the Mass-Oath-taking

Though TUCP said something bad about Nursing (telling that it is oversubscribed and even urges graduating High School not to take it in college), it is good that it is in favor about the idea of pursuing the Mass Oath-taking of the July 2011 Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE/ NLEx) passers.
I hope that the Philippine Nursing Association (PNA) and ADPCN's call to continue the aforementioned ceremonies will finally be heared and approved by the PRC-Board of Nursing as soon as possible.

No frills oath-taking for nurses

The board of nursing of the Professional Regulation Commission will start administering the nurses’ oath on September 25 but will do away with the lavish oath-taking en mass in keeping with the government’s austerity measures.

Labor department spokesman Nikon Fameronag said that all those who passed the nursing board examination can take their oath at the PRC office in Manila.

Nursing schools which prefer to conduct the mass oath-taking can do so even without officials of the nursing board or PRC. The school dean may administer the oath, he said.

PRC chairman Teresita R. Manzala earlier said the mass oath-taking was scrapped to save on government funds, but the Philippine Nurses’ Association opposed the move, saying that no government money was being spent for the ceremonies. The nurses used to fork out money to spend for the oath-taking venue, souvenir program and related expenses. Each nurse was required to pay P600 for the venue, equipment and other expenses, the nurses’ group said Vito Barcelo

Stay out of 5 college courses
Written by : ERNESTO F. HERRERA, Tuesday, September 06, 2011

THE Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) has urged young Filipinos to stay out of heavily oversubscribed college courses if they want to increase their chances of obtaining gainful employment after graduation.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has already identified at least five extremely oversubscribed programs: teacher education, nursing, business administration, information-technology, and hotel and restaurant management.

Compared to potential labor market demand, there are now far too many fresh graduates of these five courses, and large numbers of new students still going into these programs.

We’re afraid the huge oversupply of graduates of these programs has made it exceptionally difficult for them to sell their skills to employers.

Fresh high school graduates as well as college students who could still shift courses should instead consider going into science and technology as well as agriculture and fisheries—programs that have been singled out by the CHED as undersubscribed.

Students can also check the career guide section posted at the Bureau of Local Employment website at www.ble.gov.ph, which contains a series of occupational briefs or summary information about hard-to-fill and highly in-demand occupations, to aid students in planning their university courses and workers who would like to shift careers.

Even the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has advised students and workers to consider taking health-related courses other than nursing, as this paper reported last Monday.

“With the continued glut of registered, yet, unemployed nurses, alongside with the recent developments highlighted by nurse-volunteerism in hospitals and institutions, I encourage students and workers to look at other healthcare professions if they want to get employed quickly,” said Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz.

Baldoz issued the statement as the new batch of successful examinees of the July 2011 Nursing Licensure examination further increased the surplus of nurses in the country.

TUCP has been pushing for the opening of new foreign labor markets and the creation of local employment programs for the growing number of jobless Filipino nurses. It has also been pressing for the shutdown of substandard schools that it said have been defrauding nursing students and their parents.

Baldoz pointed out that there are other job opportunities in the health and wellness industry besides nursing.

“The Health and Wellness industry has been identified by DOLE’s Project Jobsfit as one of the 12 key employment generators that will provide more employment opportunities,” Baldoz said, adding that the industry has the potential for absorbing the most number of Filipino workers in the next 10 years.

The Labor chief said that other careers under the industry, such as optometry, physical therapy, pharmacy, medical technology, clinical and internal medicine, surgery, radiology, wellness massage and spa/massage therapy are occupations that are expected to propel more employment opportunities both local and overseas up to 2020.

“These kind of careers are in-demand not only in hospitals, but also in laboratories, clinics, health maintenance organizations, public health agencies, pharmaceutical firms, research institutions, scientific equipment companies, physicians’ offices, and schools offering clinical laboratory science programs. Indeed, their licenses can bring them to greater heights and greener pastures,” Baldoz said.

Allow oath-taking of new nurses, labor group urges PRC, DOLE

I urge the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to reconsider their decision to scrap the traditional oath-taking for the 37,513 nursing graduates who passed the July licensure examination.

The TUCP supports the appeal of the Philippine Nurses Association Inc. (PNA) for the ceremony to proceed as scheduled on Sept. 25.

Nurses consider the ritual a celebration of their profession. In a way, the observance also honors parents and families who have invested in a big way in the nursing education of their children.

The PRC earlier cancelled the ceremony at the prodding of the DOLE, which cited the need to conserve public funds.

However, the PNA has countered that the government has never spent any money for the formal service to begin with.

The nurses themselves have been paying P600 each to cover the cost of the venue, equipment and other expenses, with the extra collections going to the Board of Nursing, the PNA said.

Students urged: Avoid 5 oversubscribed courses
By Mayen Jaymalin (The Philippine Star), September 05, 2011 12:00 AM

MANILA, Philippines -  The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) yesterday urged students to avoid five oversubscribed college courses to increase their chances of getting employment.

TUCP secretary-general Ernesto Herrera said the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has identified education, nursing, business administration, information technology, and hotel and restaurant management as “extremely oversubscribed” programs.

“We’re afraid the huge oversupply of graduates of these programs has made it exceptionally difficult for them to sell their skills to employers,” Herrera said.

“There are now too many fresh graduates of these five courses, and large numbers of new students still going into these programs,” he added.

Herrera said high school graduates and college students who could still shift courses should instead consider going into science and technology as well as agriculture and fisheries - programs which have been singled out by the CHED as undersubscribed.

Meanwhile, Herrera asked the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to reconsider their decision to scrap the traditional oath-taking for the 37,513 nursing graduates who passed the July licensure examination.

He said the labor group supports the appeal of the Philippine Nurses Association Inc. for the ceremony to proceed as scheduled on Sept. 25.

“Nurses consider the ritual a celebration of their profession. In a way, the observance also honors parents and families who have invested in a big way in the nursing education of their children,” Herrera said.

The PRC earlier cancelled the oath-taking for nurses to save on government funds.

‘Hilot’ future for young Pinoys

Believe it or not, “hilot” is not a thing of the past but the future for young Filipinos.

The labor department yesterday advised students to become massage therapists, locally known as “hilot,” to easily land a job.

Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said DOLE has identified the health and wellness industry as one of the 12 key employment generators that will provide more employment opportunities in the coming years.

Baldoz said wellness massage and spa therapy were identified among the in-demand skills in the next decade.

“Massage therapists who have completed formal training programs and have passed the licensure exam are likely to have very good job opportunities,” she said.

Aside from “hilot,” other in-demand skills are optometry, physical therapy, pharmacy, medical technology, clinical and internal medicine, surgery, and radiology.

“These occupations are expected to propel more employment opportunities in the industry, both local and overseas, up to 2020,” Baldoz said.

She said the nursing graduates, who successfully passed the licensure examination last July, will increase the number of unemployed people in the country.

“With the continuous glut of registered, yet unemployed nurses, alongside the recent developments highlighted by nurse-volunteerism in hospitals and institutions, I encourage students and workers to look at other healthcare professions if they want to get employed quickly,” Baldoz said.

The labor chief said workers in the health and wellness professions have entry level salaries ranging from P8,000 to P12,000 per month but may go up to P20,000 or higher after years of experience.

Abroad, the average salary is about $6,351 per month or higher.

“These kind of careers are in-demand not only in hospitals but also in laboratories, clinics, health maintenance organizations, public health agencies, pharmaceutical firms, research institutions, scientific equipment companies, physicians’ offices, and schools offering clinical laboratory science programs. Indeed, their licenses can bring them to greater heights and greener pastures,” Baldoz added.

DOLE urged students to check the summary information of all health-related courses in the career guide section posted at the Bureau of Local Employment website at http://www.ble.gov.ph.

The career guide contains information on hard-to-fill and highly in-demand occupations to help students planning their college courses and workers who would like to shift careers.

Meanwhile, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) called on private companies to revive and strengthen their apprenticeship programs and hire qualified trainees as part of their workforce.

TESDA director general Joel Villanueva said there is a need to push the apprenticeship program “because it has always been proven that the best place to acquire skills is in the workplace.”

He said these training schemes not only enhance partnership between the industry and technical vocational education training providers but also ensure a steady supply of best job-fit and ready workforce.

[Guest Blog Post #5]

Quo Vita Amplusum
(The Life Understanding)

by Yaweh Parawan Aviles
September 2-3, 2011

INTRODUCTION

I have chosen this title simply because it’s all about life, how we deal on it and how far do we understand life…

As I accidentally watched the “1 Liter of Tears” (August 30, 2011; 07:20PM till September 01, 2011) in youtube which was aired last May 25, 2009 to June 19, 2009, weekdays, 10:15 pm – 10:45 pm in GMA 7 network, I was amazed because this was based from the real life-struggle story of a girl named Aya Ikeuchi of Japan. As I watch the story of her, I got interested to watch it till the last episode just because her story is so inspiring and it will teach you how to understand life.

MY OWN SUMMARY OF THE STORY

1 LITER OF TEARS

Aya Ikeuchi is a 15-year-old girl who passed the exam and studied in Higashikou High School and also an official member of basketball team. She is the oldest among the four; Ako, Hiroki and Rika. Her parents are Shioka and Mizuo while her doctor is Mizuno Hiroshi a neurologists.

In her present age, she feels something strange in her body as she walk, write or pick-up something. She often gets fall down on the street. Not only her have noticed this but even her mother too. So one day, they went to The University of Jonan Hospital; from various examinations other than general check-up, Dr. Mizuno found out that her cerebellum is shrinking. Then her mother and soon to her father was told about this and later she found it by herself that she is suffering of having the disease of spinocerebellar degeneration disease, a condition where there is a slow progression of incoordination of gait, associated with poor coordination of hand, speech and eye movement due to the unexplained shrinking/atrophy of the cerebellum that is responsible for motor control. This disease is common among teenagers but may start even in very young age. This disease slowly takes her teenage years as it takes Aya’s ability to move of her own like walking, balancing, writing and speaking. She was told to write every detail of her doings, what she feels and what she notices in her movement everyday as if writing a DIARY to monitor her condition. For Aya, it is difficult. She mined why the disease chose her. As she thinks of her future, she cries. Why? Because she does not know if she is still alive in that future or in that day she is thinking of. Every day in her life, it is difficult for her. The eyes of the others that are judgmental are at her because of her unusual movement in walking. Her daily activities are affected as eating, talking, holding objects and even walking. But she believes, despite of having this disease, real friends and family are with her to support and comfort her. Few months later, she needs to have wheelchair because she was not able to walk anymore. From Aya’s school, her mother was advised by the teacher to transfer her in a school for the disabled where they can accommodate her and soon she decided it by herself because she does not want her friends/classmates to suffer too through helping her every day in their school and also because their grades are affected too. As time goes by, she returned to The University of Jonan Hospital to continue her physical therapy. During her stay in the hospital, when she writes on her diary and her heart is beating, she believes that these mean she is still living right now. One day, she became a bedridden totally, unable to write and speak and even can’t go to comfort room by herself; and died at the age of 25 (July 19, 1962 - May 23, 1988).

She died of saying “even at my condition, I want to help others”. At one year of her death, many remembered her thru her inspiring life thru the medium of her published diary. Until now she still continues to inspire lots of people that make her still alive in their hearts.

MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE TITLE

I am curious about the title “1 Liter of Tears”; but what I understand is… this liter of tears is the tears of her anguish and ordeals during her entire stay on earth while suffering from the incurable disease.

HER DIARY OF HOPE AND SUFFERINGS

In some parts of her diary, marks of dried tears were seen. I think while she is writing, she can’t help herself not to cry and stop her tears from falling down; because writing a diary is the recording of her past and present events and that her emotions are always present; writing her sorrow and agony that she can’t comprehend before.

As she writes on her diary, the penmanship is from good and eventually to worse. It only connotes that day by day, she struggles to fight the disease that took her young age, and the disease is slowly progressing until she can’t do good penmanship anymore thru the writing that was seen in her diary.

Here are some excerpts from Aya Ikeuchi’s Diary

In some excerptions from her diary, I want you to read it and analyze their meanings and reflect it to your own self.

“If I were a flower, then now I would be a bud.

I shall treasure the beginning of my youth without any regrets.

This disease, why did it choose me?

Fate. It can't be put into words.

I want to make a time machine and go back in time.

If it wasn't for this disease, not only I could enjoy falling in love but I also wouldn’t have to rely on anyone and live by myself.

I really don't want to say things such as 'I want to go back to how things were before.'

I recognize how I am right now, and I will continue to live on.

Therefore I definitely won't run away.
That's what I’ll do. Definitely, always.

Even if it's like that, I still want to stay here because this is the place where I am.

If you look up at the sky after falling down the blue sky is also today stretching limitlessly and smiles at me...I'm alive.

People shouldn’t dwell on the past. It's enough to try your best in all that you're doing now. Reality is too cruel, too brutal.

I don’t even have the right to dream.

As I think about the future, the tears will come out again."

In one entry of her diary "I write because writing is evidence that I am still alive."

REVIEWS

Her own diary is the evidence and the witness of her life and her sufferings. During her life and stay in the school for the disabled, she inspired a lot of people, doctors and patients in her piece that was posted on the bulletin board which was read as: “kung kaya kung malagpasan ang hinagpis, sa kabilang buhay, may naghihintay na bahaghari ng kasiyahan. Hindi ako maiinip, hindi ako magiging maramot at hindi ako susuko. Dahil dapat dahan dahan ang lahat ng bagay.at kahit gaano man kaliit ang hiling ko sa buhay, gusto ko pa ring makatulong sa iba...” even the doctors in the hospital of Jounan were inspired because of her courage and determination to live. Yoshifumi Asō, father of Haruto Asō (later her love interest who is helping her everyday) spoke some words to Dr. Mizuno, “we, the doctors should be the one to give strength to our patients but instead, they are the one who give us strength”.

Even though you are an ordinary individual, you can do something that can inspire others thru helping in all the best that you could give even only little things, being humble and caring to them; showing your appreciation and respect to them. Do what you can do today. You were given only one life, a gift from heaven. Use your life to help others. If you are down, stand up. In every down that you encounter, behind the darkness of crying clouds are gray –silver lines that appear after, a sign that the sun of hope will always there to shine on you. Life does not end there. The time will not stop just for you to wait when you fall down to stand up; it is you who has the power to decide of what you will do in your life. Value your friends and your family around you.

FAMILY- in her story, their family is a perfect example; where they help each member of the family in good and in worse. Even though it’s difficult to handle a situation like this of Aya, behind of this hardships and ordeals, they remain happy and strong to show to her that she can do it to overcome the disease that at the end, miracles and hope are always there though sometimes are frail.

It only shows that family is the one that we could lean on. Family is our first    friend, our support, our hope and the courage that we could get on.

FRIENDS- aside from the family of Aya are her friends who truly love her; helping her in times of down. Even they encounter some conflict they remain still; but because of this conflict, it strengthens more and more their bonds than before.

Friends are our second family. True friends are always there even in times of trials. If we value our friends and their helpings, in return they do the same.

MY APPRECIATION OF THE STORY

I will continue to write articles regarding the “reflection to reality”, because I want to inspire others and change their negative views/beliefs in life and maybe this is my mission in life other than being a nurse to care patients; seem absurd of what I am saying but who knows. I want them to appreciate life, friends, family and God. I want them to remember me thru these articles as Aya Ikeuchi did thru her diary. That even in one day that I will be leaving this world; I want my friends and family and the others to remember me thru these as Aya or even Rizal as well coz someday I know my name will be oblivion (forgotten) but never on how I touched the hearts and lives of yours and the others and through that, I will continue to live forever thru this medium in the hearts of people whom I inspired.

No even one will be left on this world; life is a battle to survive, if you give-up then it is all over. Have you ever asked yourself why you’re still living?; because we exist here to find our mission and find our meaning in life. Life is in our very own hands to protect and value.

Like Aya, she said  “Mother, why am I still living?”
It hurts for Aya to know that her time is limited, but it hurts more to her mother to know that her daughter will leave her forever. She will not see Aya anymore. She will not feel the kind daughter she had once. The daughter that always beside her, when their eating their food the one who always serve beer to her father. Aya is a great friend, daughter, sister and inspiration.

She inspired many people around the world. She found her mission to help others in a little that she could despite of her disease which gave her insufficient time to live.

“OPTIONS IN LIFE ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE, CHOOSE ONLY THE BEST”--YAWEH PARAWAN AVILES

“Life is like a butterfly, at first it is a crawling insect and no one likes it and it receives negative judgments from others, but when the time comes it will show its real beauty and will start its mission to balance the beauty of God’s kingdom that even the judgmental ones will amaze; in life, at first we are strangers to others, no one likes us, we are judged based from our physical or outside gestures, but one day when they know our real beauty inside, as good individuals, they learn to appreciate and love us of who we are, our value and role in the society, our mission to help others.”--YAWEH PARAWAN AVILES

9th Q&A Monday

THANK YOU SO MUCH for checking out our weekly Q&A Monday Editions! The very first Edition is the most popular so far, but who knows, this one may break that record so let's get started!

Got lots' of questions in my Inbox today, but I have picked 10 here to answer for this Edition of Q&A Monday!

What's your favorite saying?

asked by Formspring
--- I have this habit now of changing my favorite saying every week or setting it depending on my current mood.
So my favorite saying for the week is "All things come to him who waits – provided he knows what he is waiting for." It was said by Woodrow Wilson and I really like it because it applies to my current working situation.

Who is the most interesting person you follow and why?
asked by jjdemon
--- Hmmmm... let me think about that a little more longer.. haha.. But my favorite this far in Formspring is 3OH!3 because they ask lots of interesting and mind-provoking questions (wow!)
But I picked this question too for Q&A Monday so you must be an interesting person to follow too. :)

If you could dye your hair any color what would it be???
asked by FredFigglehorn
---If I would dye my hair now (as what color came to my mind first) I'd color it with Violet.
I mean, I actually have no idea how Violet popped-out my mind but maybe because it's a cool color and Violet shirts suits me better.
Not to say that Green is still my "overall" favorite color. :D

you think Beyonce's kid is gonna look like her or Jay?
asked by 3OH3
--- I wish it could be a baby girl and look like Beyonce.
By this way, we may be assured that we'll have a sexy diva like her in the future! LOL..

whats one thing about this summer you wish you could do again?
asked by AskCamryn
--- What's in my last summer that I wish I could do again? hmm.. Oh, right, I actually spent most of my time last summer reviewing for the Nursing Licensure Examination, and one thing's for sure, I dont' want to do that again! haha..
If there's something that I really enjoyed a lot last summer, maybe that's walking aroud the cool Baguio City and enjoying its beautiful sceneries.

Some people take months to plan out their Halloween costume. What costume ideas do you have?
asked by BDisgusting
--- DO I really have to plan for that? haha.. I mean, me, myself is already horrific! haha.. (just joking! :D)
Maybe I'd like to go with the Twilight Gaga and plan to either be a warewolf or a vampire like Jacob and Edward. (if that even needs long planning! :D)

Do you believe Aliens exist? Do you think 3OH!3 could be the first band to play in space?
asked by 3OH3
--- I am open to the idea that aliens maybe existing. But as of now, it's really an idea that's hard to buy.
I will not be shocked if 3oh!3 comes out to be the first band to play in space. Rock on dudes! :D

What do you do when you cannot do what you want to do? :D
asked by tamaguilar
--- Awww.. this question really made me bleed a lot. haha..
If I can't do what I want to do I may think about waiting for the right time for me to do it or if there's really no hope that I could do it, then there's no hindrance for me to consider scrapping the idea.. :D

what's the plan this weekend!!!?
asked by 3OH3
--- There's actually nothing special about my plan for the next weekend because we'll have to go to the PRC to finally register as Nurses.
But there's a consolation because I will have the women that I love the most with me. :)

What is the worst thing that could happen?
asked by RuthAnna25
--- I think I have already answered this question somewhere sometime but I'll answer it again for you:
The worst thing that could happen to a person is to die without being satisfied and without having the feeling of self-accomplishment and self-actualization because that will just make him/her too much regretfull about the time that he/she has wasted in the past.
The worst thing about this is the fact that noone has the ability to undo what he/she has done in the past.
